I have worked in the human services field for over 20 yrs. My roles have included facilitating recreation programs, day camps and summer camps, youth worker, child and youth care worker within elementary and high schools and various positions within government systems. I have extensive knowledge of systems that support children, youth, their families, and caregivers. In my previous roles, I have helped them navigate difficult circumstances, change, and challenges in their lives
My day-to-day work is strengths-based, grounded in relationship building and
communication skills, as well as empathy and an intuitive ability to listen and understand
clients needs and perspectives. As someone who is deeply dedicated to empowering children, youth and their families/caregivers, I recognize the importance of collaboration, flexibility and the ability to meet a client where they are at.
My professional experience combined with my personal journey as an adoptee and a mother, has taught me so much about connection, human resilience, and adaptability. I am a mom of two unique and active children, who help emphasize the reality of the need and struggle to find balance in life and parenting.
I look forward to empowering and supporting you and/or your family, as you work towards the goals that have led you to seek counselling.
Please note that due to a contract that I hold, I am not able to work with children and youth who live in the White Rock / South Surrey areas.
